A REFRESHING APPROACH
THE PURSUIT OF HOPPINESS IS A MONUMENT TO REAL ALE, SCRUMPTIOUS CIDER AND WONDERFUL WINES; OLD WORLD AND NEW.
The micropub is a relatively new concept which started in Herne, Kent, with the Butcher’s Arms. From it’s inception in 2005, micropubs have spread north and west as people with a passion for quality real ale and cider take on the challenge to convert small, but suitable spaces into licensed premises.
The Pursuit of Hoppiness, Bridport, Dorset is the area’s only micropub. This Grade II Listed shopfront on West Street has been home to a barber shop, a tobacconist, a newsagents and a mobile phone shop. After a period of neglect this characterful building is being brought back to life.
The Pursuit of Hoppiness begins by sourcing the very best from micro breweries and cider makers in the south west as well as wines and spirits from further afield.
